In-Home Neurosomatic Therapy
Neurosomatic Therapy (NST) is an integrative form of manual therapy that identifies and corrects structural and biomechanical patterns in the body that cause chronic pain. Traditional chronic pain treatment only addresses one aspect of the underlying condition. Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy, and medicinal pain management all fail to fully address the soft tissue causes of pain. By contrast, NST creates a comprehensive therapy program using careful analysis of dysfunctional postural and movement patterns The program includes the five stages of rehabilitation:
- Eliminating Muscle Spasm
- Restoring Flexibility
- Restoring Proper Biomechanics
- Increasing Muscle Strength
- Increasing Muscular Endurance
The purpose of NST is to not only to eliminate the pain, but educate on ways to prevent recurrence of the injury.

A CHEK Exercise Coach is a superior exercise professional who can effectively administer individualized exercise programs for all types of clients. Correct technique and proper breathing is emphasized in Functional Personal Training.A key component of this training is the integration of mind-body fitness and traditional exercise prescription. It is important to understand and appreciate how different types of exercise, from Tai Chi to cardiovascular conditioning to weight training, affect both parts of the autonomic nervous system - an often neglected factor that is vital to achieving success with exercise. Using the C.H.E.K Institute's unique system of assessing physiological load, developed by Paul Chek, we can determine the amount of physical and emotional stress placed upon the body. Using this system we will be able to implement results-producing programs that enhance our clients' function and overall well-being. In our Functional Personal Training program, we will:
- Assess our clients' physiological load and write exercise programs to address low, moderate and high overall loads.
- Assess functional deficits and imbalances in the core and back musculature.
- Design personalized exercise programs that balance the autonomic nervous system.
- Understand how optimizing posture not only improves function, but increases overall wellness.
- Implement a plethora of exercises that enhance function and improve biomechanics.
The CHEK program and the above information was originated by Paul Chek, HHP, NMT, Founder of C.H.E.K. Institute. Here is a sample of some of Paul Chek's exercise routines:
